A champion strives for excellence and gives 100% to attain it. They set their goal, develop their plan, and execute with gusto.
Dominate Your Competition
Create a world-class culture
A champion has heart and courage, is dedicated and committed and harnesses passion to push through fear and uncertainty to achieve goals. A champion perseveres – when the going gets tough, they get tougher.
Enthusiasm is defintely infectious! Ever since I got back, I have been showing more genuine enthusiasm than ever before. I have been preaching and teaching this part of the experience more than any other part. I think enthusiasm has and will continue to have the biggest impact in my daily life as well as my team.
Be an Extraordinary Leader
Establish Core Values
My definition of a champion is one who lives with integrity. One who owns failure, learns from it and understands it’s one more way to live stronger. One who strives to see things from all sides, not just there own.
One who leaves a situation better than it was before.
What I learned is that I need to put myself out there more and lead with my heart. I have been leading too much with my head and telling and showing, rather than connecting with people.
Redefine the Possible
Increase team capacity
I had an opportunity to speak with one of the presenters at a leadership workshop. The Deputy Governor arranged for her to interview a few of us prior to the workshop. Prior to BOLD, I don’t think I would have embraced the opportunity to have this conversation – I’m just embracing every opportunity I can to take things to a higher level!
I think enthusiasm shows up in a lot of different ways in different people. There are some who have very visible signs- voice, gestures, etc. That is not me, at least most of the time. But what I did learn at BOLD is that your enthusiasm, when it is perceived by others, can be a big help in helping the team and it’s individuals reach their goals.
The big picture I learned from my BOLD experience is “Be the student” – I don’t always have to speak. I learned what I am and what I’m not.
