Finding Your Tribe: Beyond the Office Walls
Who is your tribe? When we pose this question, most of us instinctively look toward our friends or family. Yet, consider the hours you dedicate to your professional life. For many leaders and professionals, co-workers are the people with whom they spend the majority of their waking hours. This realization shifts the landscape of true belonging and effective collaboration.
Driven Leadership specializes in forging these essential bonds. In our BOLD: Advanced Leadership program, we take a group of strangers and build unity, self-awareness, and capability. Now, we introduce the next evolutionary step: FORGE: Team Execution.
The Daily Reality: Co-workers as Companions
The participants in FORGE—comprising two full groups from different companies, complemented by a few independent leaders—arrive with varied histories. Some know each other well; others are complete strangers. The core challenge is universal: how do business leaders, managers, and star players move past individual effort and truly become a unified force? How do they become a Tribe?
Introducing FORGE: Team Execution
FORGE: Team Execution is an immersive experience designed to catalyze this transformation. The challenge is simple, the execution is profound: spend two and a half days pushing, striving, and challenging the status quo, all within the rugged, inspirational setting of the San Bernardino mountains.
Shattering Barriers in the San Bernardino Mountains
These two and a half days are meticulously engineered to take every player to a new level. The environment is one of deliberate pressure and collective ambition. The goal is not just incremental improvement, but to unite participants as a cohesive Tribe, propelling them toward previously unforeseen areas of excellence. This intense, shared experience is the crucible where unexpected brilliance is discovered within themselves, and where new, authentic attributes of leadership are defined.
The Alchemy of Transformation: From Players to Propellers
The leaders who emerge from FORGE are those who walk in their truth, lay their best selves on the line, and inspire others to achieve great heights. The process is a rapid, intense, and deeply personal journey toward collective mastery.
Unexpected Brilliance and the New Attributes of Leadership
Is this level of transformation truly possible in less than three days? We are witnessing it firsthand. Recently, we observed 16 diverse leaders, ranging in age from 24 to 61, who learned a fundamental truth: “sitting idly is more dangerous than taking action.” This commitment to engagement, captured in the powerful sentiment by participant Travis Matthews, defines the FORGE mindset. They were men and women willing to shed their previous professional boundaries, come together, and push their limits in the service of a shared outcome.
Witnessing the Impossible: The Birth of a Tribe
The most stunning part of the experience is watching the shift. We saw participants move away from individual competition and, instead, begin moving effortlessly as a unified team. Communication became fluid, inspiration became intrinsic, and support became the default. They built each other up, even while navigating failure, learning to be creative under significant stress, and—most importantly—remaining a supportive Tribe when the pressure was at its peak.
A Lesson from the FORGE Tribe: Action Over Idleness
This is the process of genuine leadership creation. This is how significant organizational impact occurs. This is the mechanism by which positive change is seeded in the world. The bonds forged in the mountains are the tools these leaders take back to their organizations to achieve unparalleled Team Execution.
Congratulations to the phenomenal FORGE Tribe!
